FAQ
What is Cool English?
A fun monthly magazine (+ CD!) for learners of English. It contains modern,
spoken English, and has articles on all aspects of the English speaking
world: - Travel - Music - Film - Events
As well as taking a special look at an English-speaking country in every
edition. So far we have looked at: - England - Wales -
Scotland - Ireland - Australia - America - New Zealand -
Singapore...
Cool English is aimed at 18-25 year olds who speak English from
pre-intermediate to advanced level. We guarantee you will laugh at least once on
every page, and you will learn at least 10 new facts or bits of vocabulary
from every article! Satisfaction - guaranteed :)
Who is Cool English for?
I just told you! It's for 18-25's who already speak some English. But
actually, you'll probably find it's for YOU too, no matter who you are, because
we've found that no matter the age or sex, people who are interested in learning
English will ALL find Cool English useful.
Are Cool English and Hot English related?
Once upon a time...oh sod it, yes they are! Cool English started as Hot
English, but after a year or so, decided to go cool. Some like it hot,
but everyone loves it cool!
Who is WHJ?
Ask the FSB, they know all.
Is Cool English difficult?
Depends what you mean by "difficult". It might be difficult for a mouse to
read; and it might be difficult for a goat to eat; but for any learner of
English, there's something in the magazine that they'll enjoy. Some bits will be
difficult, and they will make you improve your English. Some bits will be easy,
and they will help you to maintain your English.
What is Cool English about?
Everything you ever wanted to know about the English speaking world, but were
afraid to ask. Seriously. We've got stuff on history and on geography; we've
got articles on actors and musicians; we've got interviews with top business
people, and articles about travelling and living abroad; we've got country
profiles, where you can find out all kinds of cool things about countries which
you'll never find anywhere else. We've got it all!
Who writes for Cool English?
We have an army of writers, dotted all around the world. We've got New
Zealanders, Englishmen (both posh and common), we've got Scots, and Welsh, and
Irish, and Americans...oh, the list is endless. They all live their own special
lives, but when the call from Cool Towers goes out, they listen in, like Batman
to the Batsignal, and write articles galore for us to feed to you, dear
readers.
Who records the voices for Cool English?
We have monthly recording sessions, one for each CD, and we try to get a
variety of "voices" along for each recording. We've got the regulars, Doug
Pullar, WHJ, and Peter Dyson (more about them on the About Us page). And we've
got the others, who come every now and then, or who emerge from nowhere to
record one or two CDs for us, and then disappear again.
Where can I buy Cool English?
Loads of places. If you're in St Petersburg, and in doubt, go to Bukvoed. Otherwise, go
to this page, and look up your city.
Where can I download more free stuff from Cool English?
Well, apart from the Exercise Packs, Magazine PDFs and CD Audio
Samples pages, you can't, sorry. We think we've given enough free stuff for
you to decide if you want to buy the magazine or not.
If you happen to discover that in fact you can download stuff from other
websites, please do tell us, so
that we can enjoy that privilege too!
How can I subscribe to Cool English?
SUBSCRIBE! Or call (+7 812) 325 20
71.
Is Cool English boring?
You obviously haven't read it. Cool English may be many things which you do
not like, but boring it most certainly is not.
What was the question?
I dunno, you asked me.
